What you leave with

Your own board, watertight and glossed, repaired by your own hands

Total self-reliance in board care and composite repair, taught in a shaping bay on the board you actually ride. Foam surgery, resin chemistry, fiberglass lamination and colour matching.

Polyester and epoxy behave completely differently and most people find that out expensively. The rotation opens on diagnosis and safety and closes on a hydro-seal test on a repair nobody can see.

What you cover, in rotation

The group works through these in order and then begins again on fresh ground. Join at whatever stage it is on — nothing here assumes you were there for the last one, and nothing runs out — or drop in for a single session if that is all you can manage.

  1. Stage 1Damage Diagnosis, Foam Prep & Safety Protocols
    • Anatomy of PU against EPS blanks and their corresponding resins.
    • PPE, organic vapour respirators, and chemical safety.
    • Excavating crushed foam, drying waterlogged cores, bevelling fracture edges.
  2. Stage 2Core Reconstruction, Microballoons & Structural Fills
    • Mixing resin with Q-cell and microballoon fillers for structural foam.
    • Shaping cured foam plugs to match original rail and deck contours.
    • Re-installing damaged fin boxes and leash plugs.
  3. Stage 3Fiberglass Lamination, Resin Tints & Hot Coats
    • Cutting 4oz and 6oz cloth with optimal feathering and overlap.
    • Curing rates, catalyst ratios, and pigment tinting.
    • Applying hot coats and sanding coats to a flush structural seal.
  4. Stage 4Precision Sanding, Polish & Watertight Inspection
    • Progressive dry and wet sanding from 80-grit to 1000-grit.
    • Gloss buffing, pin-striping restoration, and hydro-seal testing.
    • Final inspection of each participant's restored board.

4 sessions in the cycle, then it begins again on new ground.
