What you cover, in rotation

The group works through these in order and then begins again on fresh ground. Join at whatever stage it is on — nothing here assumes you were there for the last one, and nothing runs out — or drop in for a single session if that is all you can manage.

  1. Stage 1Soil Food Web, Microscope Analysis & No-Till Beds
    • Bacteria, fungi, protozoa, nematodes and earthworms.
    • Live microscope viewing of mycorrhizal soil against compacted dirt.
    • Building permanent no-till beds with cardboard sheet mulch and compost.
  2. Stage 2Thermal Composting & Liquid Compost Teas
    • Building 18-day hot compost piles at a 30:1 carbon-to-nitrogen ratio.
    • Monitoring core temperatures for pathogen and weed seed elimination.
    • Brewing aerated compost teas for foliar feeding and root drenching.
  3. Stage 3Swales, Rainwater Catchment & Keyline Design
    • On-contour swales and berms laid out with A-frame levels.
    • Planting guilds: fruit trees with nitrogen fixers and pollinator plants.
    • Low-pressure drip irrigation and gravity-fed water systems.
  4. Stage 4Integrated Animal Husbandry & Farm Breakfast
    • Laying hens, broiler tractors and goat rotation for weeds and fertility.
    • Collecting eggs, harvesting produce and cooking a farmstead breakfast.
    • An action plan for home gardens or community plots.

4 sessions in the cycle, then it begins again on new ground.
