Verde Roots Farm

About Verde Roots Farm · Santa Paula, Ventura County

Verde Roots is a working farm before it is anything else. What visitors see on a Saturday morning is what happened on Tuesday — the compost rows, the hedgerow we planted for the beneficials, the block we lost last year and what we did about it.

Ines runs the growing, Marco runs the pack house, and one of us takes the morning walk. Nobody is reading from a script because there is not one.

Known for

  • A working farm, not a farm attraction
  • No synthetic inputs since 2014 — ask to see the soil tests
  • Children welcome, and put to work if they want to be
  • Everything picked on the morning goes home with somebody
