What you leave with

A Swiss-system cohort tournament, with your games analysed by a master afterwards

Structured tactical instruction paired with coached competitive games, under tournament chess masters. Calculation discipline, piece coordination, positional strategy and vocal reasoning.

The coached play is the point. A lecture teaches the pattern; a master standing behind you while you miss it teaches you to see it.

What you cover, in rotation

The group works through these in order and then begins again on fresh ground. Join at whatever stage it is on — nothing here assumes you were there for the last one, and nothing runs out — or drop in for a single session if that is all you can manage.

  1. Stage 1Tactical Motifs — Pins, Forks & Skewers
    • Absolute against relative pins, and spotting board geometry.
    • Knight forks and double attacks on king and queen.
    • Calculating two-move combinations, and board vision exercises.
  2. Stage 2Opening Principles, Center Control & Development
    • Controlling the central squares without overextending pawns.
    • Development before moving a piece twice; early castling safety.
    • Common opening traps and defences.
  3. Stage 3Positional Strategy, Outposts & Pawn Structures
    • Knight outposts on weak squares; rooks on open files.
    • Doubled, isolated and backward pawns.
    • Forming mid-game plans from pawn tension.
  4. Stage 4Essential Endgames, Clock Strategy & Mini-Tournament
    • King and pawn endings: the rule of the square, and opposition.
    • Rook and king checkmate patterns, and digital clock management.
    • A Swiss-system cohort tournament with master post-game analysis.

4 sessions in the cycle, then it begins again on new ground.
