For painters, illustrators, musicians, dancers and anyone who teaches an art
Teach your art every week.
You have the skill and the people who want to learn it. What you may not have is a room to hold it in, an offer people stay for, a way to take the booking, or anybody past your own circle. We help with each of those, and are paid only when somebody actually joins.
The honest pitch
Being good at it is not the same as being able to teach it for a living.
Nearly every artist we sit down with has the same three problems, and not one of them is the art.
Nowhere to hold it
The studio is a corner of the spare room, or there is no studio. Twelve people with easels need a room, light, tables and somewhere to park.
One-off workshops, then nothing
A Saturday class fills, everybody loves it, and next month you start again from zero. Nobody is building on anything, including your income.
The admin eats the making
Payments, reminders, who is bringing what, where the room is. All of it on a phone, in the hours you meant to paint.
We help with all three. You keep doing the part that took you years to learn, which is the part nobody else here can do.
How we set you up
Every class needs four things. We help with the ones you are missing.
Knowing how is the part only you have. The rest is somewhere to hold it, an offer people come back for, a way to take the booking, and people to fill it.
1. A space
Use your own place, a beach, a park, or rent one. Farms and studios around the county list rooms, barns, kitchens and gardens in our space directory at livabit.co/spaces, and we introduce you to the host.
2. An offer people stay for
We help you shape what you teach into a class people join by the month, so the same faces come back and build on last week instead of a new crowd starting over every time. Free.
3. The system
Your listing, the booking calendar, card checkout, signed waivers and one message thread per booking, all run on Livabit. Free to use: we earn a commission on what sells.
4. People
We market the whole platform: the San Diego Farm Crawl, our highway sign, ads and our own channels. We will not promise to fill your class on our own, so bring your people too, and we give you the tools to do it.
The arrangement
Five steps, and none of them cost you.
We come and take the class
We sit at the table and make the thing, badly, before we list anything. If it is not something we would send a friend to, we say so and part as friends.
We work out what you are missing
A space, an offer, the system, people. Whatever you already have stays as it is; we help with the rest, starting with the one that is stopping you today.
We shape the offer with you
What a month of it looks like, how often you meet, what someone has at the end of the first four weeks, and what it costs. You approve every word before anything goes live.
We put it on Livabit and tell people
Your listing, your calendar and your checkout, and a place in what we market. You bring your own people too, and the listing is a link worth sending them.
You are paid, and we take commission on sessions that ran
Agreed in writing before anything goes live. Nothing is owed on somebody you found yourself, and nothing is owed on a session that did not run.
Where the money goes
Two ways to be paid. You pick.
Everybody asks this first and they are right to. There is no arrangement here where we sit on your money.
People check out on Livabit
You connect a payout account once. From then on people join and pay by card on the listing, and the payment is split on the way through: your share goes to your account on your normal schedule, and our commission comes out as each sale settles. There is no invoice to pay, no balance held on your behalf, and nothing to chase us for.
Or you collect, the way you always have
If you would rather take payment yourself, that is a perfectly good answer. We send you a confirmed booking, you take the money at your price on your terms, and we invoice commission monthly on the sessions we introduced that actually ran. Same rate either way: the choice changes when the money moves, not how much of it is ours.
On the rate itself
We work on a straightforward share of the bookings we bring you. What it comes to depends on what you run, what it costs you to put on and how much of the marketing spend we are carrying, so we agree it with you in writing before anything goes live, and it never changes without your signature. There is no listing fee, no setup fee, no monthly cost, and no charge of any kind on people you find yourself.
And if you rent a space through us
The host pays our commission on a rental we introduced, not you. You pay the host their price, agreed between the two of you, and nothing is added on top.
The terms, without the sales voice
What stays yours, and what we ask
What stays yours
- Your work, and every decision about what is taught and how
- Your commissions, sales and private students, commission-free
- Your prices: you set them, and we never discount without your say
- Your calendar: close a week or a whole season without asking us
- Your right to list anywhere else you like; there is no exclusivity
- Your right to leave with 30 days’ notice, no exit fee
What we ask of you
Four things, and we hold ourselves to the same standard.
- Liability cover that contemplates members of the public with tools and materials in their hands
- Reply to a confirmed booking request within one business day
- A free reschedule or a full refund whenever you cancel
- Tell us early when something changes, so we are not selling a session that moved
In four numbers
No fees, no lock-in, no exclusivity.

Tell us what you teach
Five minutes, in five short steps. It starts with what you already have, so we know what to help with, and it saves as you go. A real person reads every one and we reply either way.
Artist questions
Fair things to ask
I do not have a studio.
Then start with the space directory. Farms, studios and halls around the county rent by the session or by the month, and we introduce you to the host. A barn with good light and a long table is a better room for a painting class than most studios.
I have only ever run one-off workshops.
That is the most common starting point. We help you turn it into a workshop people join by the month: the same group, meeting weekly or twice a month, each session building on the last. People stay longer than you would think when there is something to come back to.
Will you fill my class?
We will not promise that, and you should be wary of anybody who does. We market the whole platform, and your workshop is part of what we market. Bring your own people too: the listing is built to be the link you send them.
What does it cost me?
Nothing up front. No listing fee, no setup fee, no monthly cost. We take a commission on the bookings we bring, agreed in writing before you go live, and nothing on people you found yourself.
I make things as well as teach. Do you take a cut of sales?
No. Your commissions, prints, pieces sold at a market and private students are yours and stay commission-free. We only earn on bookings that came through us.
Run something else? The general partner page covers every kind of class, workshop and experience on the same terms.
