Vista Ladera Vineyard

About Vista Ladera Vineyard · Temecula Valley, California

Paolo Serra planted Vista Ladera in 2009 on a slope his father-in-law said was too steep to farm. It is forty rows, it is picked by hand, and the harvest day exists because the alternative is hiring a crew who do not much care what the fruit tastes like.

You pick in the morning while it is still cool, you eat at eleven, and you spend the afternoon blending with a licensed winemaker in the room — which is what makes the bottle you take home both legal and drinkable.
